Hanami Happenings

March 22, 2013

This may be the only time I get to do the yearly tradition of going out to celebrate the blossoming of the cherry trees and the coming of spring. It looks like the only days I have off work are going to be rainy and with the flowers already in full bloom (a week and a half earlier than normal years!) and a couple of rainy days in the near future the blossoms will be gone before we know it.

So, we went out late last night to check out the blossoms. Even though it was quite dark and a little chilly, it was nice to see the flowers.

This picture was taken in the dark with hardly any lights. It’s kind of grainy and I haven’t done any post-processing but I’m happy with the result. I’m looking forward to experimenting with long exposures more in the future.

This is a 30-second exposure. You can see the stars if you look closely.
